A drumroll please…

You guessed it!  Today I came home from Henniker, NH with my very own potter’s wheel and kiln!  I cannot begin to describe my excitement!  Ok, so let me tell you how this all went down.  As I mentioned on Monday, I started looking for pottery equipment in the hopes of truly getting my own studio going.  I looked in the classified section of the newspapers, public post boards, and Craigslist.  Craigslist definitely proved to be the best source for what I wanted.  I checked out ads for Hew Hampshire and also Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine.  I found quite a few ads that I inquired about and heard back from this woman who was selling her beautiful kiln and wheel.  Over several emails, I decided I really needed to come by and take a serious look at the equipment she had for sale.  Andrew made the hour drive with me to look at the wheel and kiln and before I knew it we were driving back home with the wheel, kiln, and a box full of mint condition shelves and shelf posts loaded up in the back of our van.  It was such a great offer, I had to jump on the opportunity!

I am so glad I went for it today.  I would be kicking myself if I didn’t get them.  It is a great feeling knowing that

and I have the equipment now!  The next step I will be working towards is getting my other materials squared away (clay, raw materials to mix my glazes, etc.).  Right now I have a great place to store it as I figure out the details for the proper wiring and operating expenses.  Now I am really itching to hop back on the wheel, my wheel!  (Oh I just love being able to say that!)  I will make sure to keep my blog up-to-date with the progress of my studio plans.
