Wow! Can you believe it is already May? I woke up to an incredibly sunny and cool morning – my favorite! This week is already turning into a pretty busy one. Today I am supposed to hear back about the job interview I had last week, and I am also going into Boston for the afternoon and evening with my husband and four of our Young Life kids to see Angels and Airwaves in concert! I am pumped! Thursday is my big critique for a guild I am trying to get into. I am pretty nervous about it, but also very excited. I hope they find my work refined enough and innovative to have me be a member of their guild. If I do get in, I will have the opportunity to be in shows, craft fairs, get my work into shops, and possibly open some doors for teaching some classes. A lot of great and exciting things can come from this. So, pray for me on Thursday morning if you think to. Here are a few of the pieces that I am bringing before the jury:
There is a sample of what I am bringing. I am asked to bring 6-12 pieces of my work for the clay jury to examine and critique. The whole meeting should take about an hour. At the end they will tell me if I have been accepted or declined. It will be pretty tough, I think. I am just excited and hopeful to be able to move on to the next step in my own goals as an artist. My kiln and wheel are on a hold for the moment. I was all ready to have the proper wiring put in to fire my kiln, but it is a bit expensive for us to do right now. I am going to wait and try out my other options for now. Like I said, one step at a time!
