A working studio

APV Studio

As I mentioned before, by studio is up and running!  Good friends of ours from our church have given me space in their garage to use as my studio.  They have been such a blessing to both Andrew and me, we cannot thank them enough!  A couple of days ago we were over at the Bartells and decided, “let’s get this space cleared and ready to work in”, so here it is.  It is so awesome to have my own studio and to be throwing again.  I threw two days ago for the first time (since I started up my own business) and it was both wonderful and upsetting.  Upsetting in the sense that I am a bit rusty and need to build up my hand, wrist, and arm strength again.  Plus, when I got my wheel it did not have pins for the bats to sit in securely.  To compensate for that, I wedged small bits of clay under the bat to adhere to the wheel head.  It worked for about a minute before it came apart and the bat would spin off-center or off the wheel altogether!  Today I am heading to the hardware store to pick up a pair of nuts and bolts that will fit the wheel head and get back on the wheel in full swing!
