This was my view from work when I was still living and working in Maryland: The State House. I worked at Annapolis Pottery for two seasons, in between college years and post-graduation. It was an amazing studio and store to work in and a great team to be a part of. I worked as one of the production potters and store clerks along side two amazing people who truly helped me grow as a potter: Amy and Erica . If you stop in sometime, chances are you will find them working away in the studio. Melanie and Patrick Murphy are the current owners of this thriving shop in downtown historic Annapolis. If you have never been, it is a must see! Aside from their own line of pottery that has been in production since the store opened over 30 years ago, they also carry about 70+ potters. You can check them out online here.
New ideas are constantly being explored as well as new artists. I am excited to share that I am one of their new artists! I have been in touch with Melanie and Patrick about my current work and they have taken my four lanterns, that I have featured on this blog, to sell in their store. I am really excited for this opportunity and hope it is a really great experience. It was definitely rewarding to see my lanterns in the window next to so many gifted potters. Next time you are in Annapolis, check out Annapolis Pottery on State Circle. You won’t want to miss it!
