Now that I have moved to the basement and am working under the stairs, I tend to have more visitors. As I work, I start to see these little feet dangling above me and then I hear, “Hi Aewinn”. They seem to be quite enthralled with what I am doing and love to watch. I love seeing those faces…and feet!
They love to sit on the stairs or peek over them to see what is going on. This is usually how our conversation goes:
“What are you doing?”
“I am making pottery”
“What is that?”
“This is a big bowl”
“Oh” – “Make a bigger one!”
They crack me up! Even after they have come down once, to ask what I am doing, they will come down a second time and we go through the same conversation again! I love the way kids think and process things. I am never lonely when I work, and I do enjoy that. Luckily, I am still able to concentrate on what I am doing.
Magda came down later to check out what I was doing. My “little” fan club consists of all four Bartell children and I just love them! My latest work has been simply building up my stock of work, while working on commissions, to post on Etsy and hopefully for a show in the fall! That is my plan at least, so I really hope everything can come together for it!
Abby is very much into creating, and is often working on her own art projects. One of her favorite things lately, is this foamy sculpting clay. It is pretty neat stuff! I would have loved playing with it as a kid. Abby made several “monsters” out of it and made one for Andrew and me. Since my hands were messy with clay, Abby put him on top of the fridge so he could see me working!
