You may recall, several posts back, I was working on a new line item called candle pots. The idea for candle pots came to mind when I was in my apartment working on some design ideas. As usual, I had candles lit on the mantel as well as in the fireplace and table top. I love candles! They can so easily add ambiance to any room and makes everything feel cozy. As I was looking around the room, I thought it would be neat to make something specifically for candles. That was how I came up with the idea for candle pots. I have had tons to glaze in the last week and I have been steadily loading, firing, unloading and reloading the kiln for multiple firings. My first round of candle pots made it though and I am so excited to share how they came out!
Sometimes when you are planning something and envisioning how you think it will come out, it doesn’t always quite add up they way you had hoped. Fortunately, these came out just they way I hoped they would. It was so fun to put candles in them and then light them to see how the light splashed painted the walls. We kept them lit with the lights out for a while too! They also look great in the light too. Their crystal grow was so great in this last firing.
