A Wedding Gift: Luke & Margaret Sanford

Andrew and I know Luke and Margaret from Houghton College.  They are a great couple and full of life!  Margaret and I were fellow art students and her work never ceased to amaze me.  Margaret is one of those people who is truly good at everything she does:  all things art, baking, singing (she has a beautiful voice), etc.  As a wedding gift to Andrew and me, Margaret designed my wedding invitations.  It was such a neat gift and I loved how they came out.  She has been in high demand for her paper goods and skilled hand at letter-press.  Check out her site here.  Luke and Margaret are a really neat couple and so much fun to be around.  It is evident how much they love and care for each other, as well as those around them.  It was an honor to celebrate their wedding day with them and you could see Margaret’s artistic hand in every detail of their wedding.

I wanted to do something a little more personal for Luke and Margaret for their wedding gift, so I decided to make them a platter.  This was a fun project, even though I didn’t end up giving it to them until a month ago!  (I was 8 months off, but it was still within their first year of marriage!)  This platter is glazed in Rutile crystalline.  That is actually only one glaze, even though it looks like about three different ones.  It’s one of my favorite glazes.

Hope you are enjoying your platter Luke and Margaret and thanks for being on my blog!  Make sure you all check out Margaret’s site!
