Ok, not with Chihuly himself, but with his work. As many of you know, Dale Chihuly is probably my favorite artist. He is an incredible glass blower and has had an exhibit this spring and summer at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He is one of the most inspirational artists to me. For my birthday this year, my brother, Ian, got me tickets to go see the exhibit. That was one of the coolest gifts I have ever received! Andrew and I went yesterday and it was such an amazing day! For those of you who went, you know just how incredible it was! Here are some highlights of the exhibit…
We got there just after the museum opened, which was the perfect time to go. We didn’t have to wait very long at all before heading into the exhibit. The awesome piece greeted us before going down a level for the start of the exhibit. When we finished the exhibit there was a long line both inside the museum and outside the museum just to see Chihuly’s work!
I loved that Chihuly’s work was displayed against a smooth, black, glass surface. It made it look like a continuation of the pieces.
The Persian Ceiling was so beautiful (as was everything). I wish I could have this installed in my home! I loved how the lights behind the glass painted the colors all over the walls and floor.
Such an incredible day and experience. I am ready to see it again and again. There was so much more glass too!
