Snow Day and No Power

Snow in October!  Part of me was excited to see the first snow of the year and yet disappointed because our leaves haven’t even peaked in color!  If they did “peak” then the colors this year were a bit of a disappointment.  Only a few trees are really colorful here and there.  Last year I felt everything was splashed in fiery tones.  A lot of power was lost, including our church.  We still had service yesterday despite the power loss.  It was and “unplugged” service and we all sat close by in our coats, hats and gloves.  It was pretty awesome!  Fortunately we did not lose power in our apartment.  I can thank the fire department for that since we live right next door to them.  If they have it, we do too!  The first flurries came Friday night, but the real snow came Saturday night.  This is what I woke up to…a mix of seasons:

Today I am working in the studio to get ready for the Yuletide craft fair on the 19th!  I have a ton to do between now and then.  Today I am throwing lots of large bowls since all of mine sold at my show in MD.  I plan to post about the show tomorrow so stay tuned.  It is going to be a longer post with lots of pictures.  I am working on that tonight so it will be up tomorrow morning.  Hope you have a great day and a good start to another week!

Snow is good this time of year. It makes people think of Christmas and that reminds people they need to start their shopping, so hopefully all this snow means great success for your next show! Always thinking positively 🙂ReplyCancel

  • With all the rain and now the snow we had here in Central PA our leaves weren’t the best display of their colors either. I feel like we were “robbed” of a true autumn a little bit, but the beautiful snow has gotten me in the mood for winter!ReplyCancel

    • I feel that same way. “Robbed” is a good way to put it. I do love the snow however and the fAct that Thanksgiving and Christmas are soon on their way!ReplyCancel

  • Maybe it will be like last year where it was cold and snowy a little, then it all melts and autumn gets to finish and Then the true winter will kick in. (Supposed to be a very cold one… but luckily you’ll have a baby to keep you warm 😉 )ReplyCancel
