Opening the Kiln

Perhaps you read my post from the other day about my recent setbacks, if not, I think the title says it all.  Today was the boost that I needed.  Despite the fact that two kiln shelves collapsed during the firing, I only lost one piece and amazingly none of the pieces under the collapsed shelves were ruined even the tiniest bit!  Some stunning crystals grew in this batch and I am so happy with the way the pieces came out!  As soon as the kiln was unloaded, I loaded it back up with items to bisque.  The next glaze firing is scheduled for Tuesday morning:  platters, trays and clocks!  For now, here is a little sample of what came out of the kiln.
