At some point last week my husband announced that he was in the mood for cake. He closed his eyes and smiled as if he had just taken a delicious bite and then said he wanted a Funfetti cake with homemade vanilla buttercream frosting. Maybe it was the face I couldn’t resist, but I thought I would surprise him with just that! Noah has really been enjoying helping me in the kitchen: stirring, pouring, mixing, etc. When he woke up from his nap last week, I asked if he wanted to help me make a cake for daddy. He responded by running into the dining room to hold onto a chair and said, “cha”. I helped him bring the chair into the kitchen and we started mixing up the cake batter. It is so fun getting to do these things with him even if we end up 10x messier then I would have if I just did it myself.
After dinner that night, I brought in the cake Noah and I made together to surprise Andrew. Needles-to-say, he was thrilled and made that same face when he took a bite of it as he did when describing it. I also thought this would be a great time to showcase my new dessert plates. These measure about six inches in diameter and are glazed in rutile crystalline. This set of six are up for sale on my Etsy shop, so stop on by!
